Today, Memorial Day:

I have edited from my life items that are no longer used, so no longer need to be stored. What can go to Goodwill has, the rest is headed for the county landfill.

I have added to and rethought some of my personal development map and the ongoing re-invention of me as a better person.

I have worked with my spouse in making both of the above happen; we love one another more as time goes on due to a conscious effort.

Weekend is here…and I’m working

Just a quick one before working through the weekend at the ER; had today off, so got a few things done around home. Was able to get in some guitar practice and read some more of The Expected One by Kathleen McGowan. This is part of a series concerning the Mary Magdalene “controversy” that became the rage with Dan Brown’s The DaVinci Code. Personally, I didn’t find that novel very well written. I have been fortunate enough to have become familiar with the Magdalene story while reading up on the Knights Templar. All of these storyline are intertwined, and there are several theories associated with them – not to mention quite a few very interesting characters. Let me state from the start that I am a Reformed Protestant, a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Whether or not Jesus took a wife; whether it was that Mary; children, or no, does nothing to diminish my faith in His saving grace. Ms. McGowan does a fine job pulling these strands together into an enthralling story, with just enough art history to keep me Googling.

Where am I starting from?

This is a new experience for me. So, there will be errors, faux pas, etc. Que sera. What am I seeking? To know myself better, to know the world better; to make me a better person, to improve life and the world in some small way. Touchstones will include; nursing, childhood, faith, music, books, self-analysis, marriage, fiction, politics, relationships; to name a few.

I want this journey to gather in new friends, new thoughts, new ways. Later.
